The Brown Paintings examine the relationship between the selected pigments and the concept of the Brown Space of Change. The dimensions of the paintings were deliberately designed to mirror those of the books, creating a visual and conceptual dialogue between the two mediums. Quotations from The Brown Book were added to the canvas before the painting process started, grounding the work in themes of nourishment and change. The quotations establish a connection between the paintings and the book, but are later concealed, leaving room for new interpretations, making each Brown Painting a unique Brown Space in its own right.
